aUPaEU Holds Third General Assembly in Poznan

On 23-24 January 2025 the project partners gathered in Poznan, Poland, for the third aUPaEU General Assembly.

Representatives from all five partner universities reunited at Adam Mickiewicz University  at the third-year mark of the aUPaEU project.

The assembly commenced with a welcome address from AMU Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, and Epicur Board Member, Prof. Rafał Witkowski, who joined the first day of meetings and emphasized the importance of inter-Alliance cooperation: aUPaEU’s work and its Agoras can and will help other Alliances and Universities, for we are all Europe.

During the annual gathering, the partners came together to review the progress made, discuss current challenges, and plan the path forward for our project.

Key points included reflections on how to ensure the project’s sustainability and efficacy, while better supporting the evolving needs of universities. The partners explored the diversity of perspectives within different University Alliances and identified ways to align their services with the specific objectives of these networks.

The meeting also included working sessions with representatives of aUPaEU’s sister projects, i.e., other initiatives receiving funding to develop innovative tools to support European education and research, dedicated to the co-development of a new acceleration service, aiming to leverage the strengths of the different projects. A central focus was the development of a service devoted to widening access to expertise, a broad yet highly promising proposal that holds potential to transform university systems across Europe. Our goal is not to duplicate, but instead join forces, and build on complementarities.

The General Assembly at AMU was a key moment for aUPaEU, highlighting our shared achievements and introducing exciting innovations like new Agora features and acceleration services. It demonstrates our continued commitment to advancing higher education through collaboration, strategy, and sustainable progress ." - Jesus Alcober, Project Coordinator.
