The aUPaEU project recognises that transformative change in HEIs requires a collaborative approach that transcends institutional boundaries. To foster this collaboration, aUPaEU establishes the idea of the agora, a shared platform where HEIs, university alliances, and networks can exchange knowledge, share best practises, and co-create innovative solutions. This agora serves as a catalyst for cross-institutional collaboration, enabling HEIs to learn from each other's experiences and collectively advance their transformation efforts.

Leveraging Digital Technologies for Susta​inable Impact

aUPaEU harnesses the power of digital technologies to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of its acceleration services. Tangible digital tools are developed to support HEIs in various aspects of their transformation journey, such as:

Achieving Integrated, Shared, and Long-Term R&I Transformations

Through its comprehensive suite of acceleration services, the aUPaEU project empowers HEIs to embark on transformative journeys that align with the European Union's (EU) vision for an integrated, shared, and long-term research and innovation (R&I) landscape, the  European Research Area (ERA). The ERA aims to create a single, borderless market for research, innovation, and technology across the EU by strongly aligning the research policies and programmes of the member states and associated countries. The ERA also supports the free circulation of researchers and knowledge, the improvement of access to excellence, the boosting of market uptake, and the strengthening of mobility and international cooperation.

The EU adopted a new ERA policy agenda, which sets out 20 concrete actions for the period 2022-2024 to contribute to the priority areas defined in the Pact for Research and Innovation in Europe. The Pact is a new document that establishes a list of 10 common values and principles guiding research and innovation in Europe and Europe’s collaboration with the rest of the world. The  ERA policy agenda also introduces a new governance system, a new monitoring system, and a new scoreboard and dashboard to measure the progress and impact of the ERA actions.

By fostering institutional transformation, the aUPaEU project contributes to the EU's ambition to strengthen its global competitiveness and address the challenges of the future.
